Earplugs for sleeping

Block out snoring, traffic and noise for deeper rest. How to choose comfortable earplugs for the night.

Earplugs for sleeping
Rest easy

Quieter nights, deeper sleep

Whether it's a snoring partner, a busy road or a noisy neighbour, night-time noise fragments your sleep even when it doesn't fully wake you. The right earplugs can give you back hours of genuine rest.

Comfort is everything for sleep, so the material and fit matter more than maximum noise blocking.

Choose your type

Three options for the bedside

Soft foam

Cheap and high-blocking, but can feel bulky for side-sleepers and are single-use.

Silicone & wax

Mouldable putty that seals the canal opening - comfortable and reusable.

Custom-made

Moulded to your ear for the best comfort if you wear them every night.

Sleep tips

Getting comfortable with earplugs

A few small habits make night-time earplugs comfortable and effective.

  • Pick a soft, low-profile design
  • Insert with clean, dry hands
  • Replace foam plugs regularly
  • Keep a backup alarm you'll feel
  • Give yourself a few nights to adjust
  • Clean reusable plugs often
Choosing well

Foam or reusable - which should I pick?

Foam plugs are inexpensive and block the most noise, which makes them great for the occasional disturbed night - but they're single-use and can feel bulky if you sleep on your side. Reusable silicone or moulded plugs cost a little more upfront but are softer, last far longer and suit nightly wearers.

If you struggle to sleep through noise most nights, custom-moulded plugs are usually the most comfortable long-term answer.
