Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you book or use Hearizan services.

Draft notice: this page sets out Hearizan's terms in plain, good-faith language based on standard UK consumer-protection principles. It has not yet been reviewed by a solicitor and should be checked by one — particularly the statutory cancellation-rights section below — before being relied on as a final legal document.

1. Who we are

Hearizan Ltd ("Hearizan", "we", "us") provides home-visit and in-clinic audiology services, including hearing assessments, ear wax removal, hearing aid fittings and aftercare, across London & the South East. Our clinical headquarters is 167-169 Great Portland Street, West End, London W1, by appointment only.

2. Booking an appointment

Appointments can be booked online, by phone, or through your patient portal. Booking an appointment currently requires no upfront deposit. You may cancel or reschedule a booked appointment free of charge; we simply ask for as much notice as possible so the slot can be offered to another patient.

3. Hearing aid packages & payment plans

Hearing aid packages (Core, Connect, Social, Active, Dynamic and Signature) are quoted and confirmed before you commit. Where you choose our 12-month interest-free payment plan:

  • Core, Connect and Social packages require a minimum 50% deposit, with the remaining 50% spread interest-free over 12 months.
  • Active, Dynamic and Signature packages require a minimum 30% deposit, with the remaining 70% spread interest-free over 12 months.
  • No interest or fees are added under this structure — the monthly amount is simply the remaining balance divided by 12.
  • Finance is subject to an affordability conversation with your audiologist at the time of booking.

4. The Hearizan hearing-aid trial

Where offered, hearing aid fittings include an up to 60-day hearing-aid trial. This is a voluntary benefit provided by Hearizan on top of your statutory rights, not a replacement for them. The exact trial length for your order will be confirmed with you in writing at the time of fitting and may be shorter than 60 days — not every patient automatically receives a full 60 days. During the trial, our clinical team will work with you on adjustments at no extra cost.

5. Your statutory cancellation & refund rights

The rights in this section come from UK consumer law and exist separately from, and in addition to, the voluntary trial described in Section 4 above.

If you buy a hearing aid package at a distance (online or by phone) or away from our clinical headquarters (for example, during a home visit), you generally have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of the day your order is confirmed, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel within this window, simply tell us in writing (email is fine) that you wish to cancel.

This 14-day right does not apply, or may end early, in some circumstances that commonly affect hearing aids specifically:

  • Hearing aids are individually fitted and programmed to your ears and hearing test results. Goods "made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised" are generally excluded from the standard 14-day right under Regulation 28 of the 2013 Regulations.
  • If you ask us to begin a service (such as a hearing assessment or fitting) within the 14-day window and it is fully carried out with your agreement, your right to cancel that completed service may be lost.

Separately from the above, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you rights that always apply — for example, that services are carried out with reasonable care and skill, and that goods supplied are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Nothing in this document, or in the voluntary 60-day trial, removes or reduces these statutory rights.

If you are unsure whether your specific order is covered by the 14-day cancellation right, please ask us before you book — we would rather explain this clearly upfront than leave you uncertain.

6. Appointment-booking cancellations

Because no deposit is currently taken to book an appointment, there is nothing to refund if you cancel or reschedule an appointment itself. Section 5 above concerns cancelling a hearing aid purchase, which is a separate matter from cancelling the appointment at which it might be discussed or fitted.

7. Clinical advice

Information on this website is provided for general guidance and does not replace a proper assessment by one of our audiologists. Recommendations about hearing aids, ear wax removal or other treatment are made individually, following your assessment.

8. Data protection

We handle your personal and health data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. See our Privacy Policy for details of what we collect, why, and your rights over it.

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law. Subject to that, our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for the relevant service.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the English and Welsh courts have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting your right to bring a claim in your local courts as a consumer.
